In recent years, Global Ministries has participated in an outreach to AIDS infected children. The outreach has grown in recent weeks from seven children to twenty four. Each of these children will eventually die of AIDS. We want to help them be cared for and shown Christ’s mercy until that time. One great concern is having sufficient antiretroviral drugs for children in need. These drugs help reduce suffering in these children’s lives in their last days. The cost of these drugs has risen dramatically, and it now requires $80 a month per child. Sixteen of the children are currently in need. Would you like to assist in this situation? Churches and Pastors in India
Summary: $7000 to assist church planting families, provide two seminars per year for all of the pastors, and help fund additional church plants.
The United Brethren church has established a thriving church planting ministry in predominantly Hindu areas. This is the Great Commission at its purest—going into places with little or no Christian presence, winning people to Christ, baptizing them, and making disciples.
In the case of the Savra Kapu tribe, we were the first Christian witness. Altogether we have 14 pastors, about 15 churches (nine with their own buildings, the rest meeting in homes), several preaching points, and about 1350 worshipers—nearly all of them converts from Hinduism.
Evangelistic training for Christian Workers
Plans have begun for two institutes to be repeated again in July of 2008, one in the south and one in the north. Global Ministries would be excited to see God’s people in United Brethren churches help fund these training opportunities.
