WORKING TOGETHER: Mission Trip Policies and Procedures
Global Ministries – United Brethren in Christ

Informing Global Ministries of a trip to the field by an individual or mission team allows us the opportunity to:

  1. Communicate valuable information and provide resources regarding language, culture, planning, travel, accommodations, orientation materials, insurance etc.
  2. Coordinate your plans with those of others to avoid duplication or excessive visits to the same location within a brief period of time.
  3. Ensure plans and preparations match priorities and needs on the field.
  4. Provide opportunity to purchase traveler’s insurance for each participant through our denominational policy with Brotherhood Mutual Insurance.
  5. Provide assistance in transferring project funds to the field.
  6. Offer denomination-wide promotion and prayer support.

Using Global Ministries to administer your team’s trip/project provides you with all the above plus the following:

  1. Confirm invitation with the field, field leadership or national conference and manage/translate all communications.
  2. Train the team leader regarding the use of CultureLink materials and ship the required number of notebooks well in advance of departure for each team member.
  3. Handle all administrative tasks including:
    •trip budget
    •purchase of tickets
    •procurement of visas (if needed)
    •purchase of traveler’s insurance
    •account servicing
    •receipting of donors
    •free money wires/transfers to the field
  4. Remain in close contact with the team leader and field staff to clarify logistics and answer questions.
  5. Remain available twenty-four hours a day to handle any crisis situation that cannot be resolved with the assistance of our field missionaries or national hosts.
  6. For this service, Global Ministries charges the following administrative fees which include training materials, traveler’s insurance, administrative services, telephone, postage, money wires :
    •1 - 12 travelers $85.00 each
    •13 - 25 travelers $75.oo each
    •26 or more travelers $55.00 each
