Myanmar

Hong Kong Conference began thinking about expanding into Myanmar in the mid-1990s. By 1998, they joined in partnership with a young couple living in Yangon (formerly Rangoon), the capital of Myanmar.
 
"Teddy" and "Helen" (not their real names) met while serving aboard the Operation Mobilization mission ship, Doulos. He is from Myanmar, and she is from Hong Kong. In 1998, they began an English Language Program in Myanmar similar to what we do in Macau. They are endorsed missionaries serving with Operation Mobilization.

Flag Description

This flag is red with a blue rectangle in the upper hoist-side corner bearing 14, white, five-pointed stars encircling a cogwheel containing a stalk of rice. The 14 stars represent the seven administrative divisions and seven states.
