El Salvador
Honduras, Nicaragua, and the UBs of North America partnered to plant churches in El Salvador. In 1999, the Women’s Missionary Fellowship joined the partnership through a special fundraising event. Money collected from this event helped get the work established in the early years.
We currently have two churches in El Salvador, and two more church plants. Honduras is the supervising conference of this mission endeavor, and in 2007 sent their best church planter, Rev. Gonzalo Alas to help start a church planting movement in El Salvador.
Rev. Alas had been working in the Copan region of Honduras where previously there were no UB churches. When he left Copan to go to El Salvador, 13 established churches and 5 church plants were now functioning.
